Zombies 2nd Womb Emancipation Day

Zombies turned 2 earlier this month, and in true fashion, I remembered it too late.
I really can't believe it's been two whole years since this zombie was raised from the dead. She's changed a lot since her first appearance on the web - she's evolved from a solely beauty blog to a blog that pretty much covers any topic I can think of to write about.

Yes, I personify my blog. She's a 'she' for many reasons - she has mood swings and days when I don't even want to talk to her because she frustrates the crap out of me, demanding commitment and attention when I just don't have the time to dedicate to her. But I love her nonetheless.

From the first follower to recent readers, I want to thank you all for your continued support of my space on the web, every follower and every viewing figure has kept me going over the last 2 years and I can't see myself stopping any time soon!

The Used - Imaginary Enemy

I can, hand on heart, describe The Used as my favourite band of all time, having discovered them in 2003 and fallen in love with every single track ever since. It's rare to find a band that you can't possibly fault, but I have held these boys on a pedestal since I first heard Blue and Yellow. My interest in this band doesn't fall short of anything less than worship, so any news of a new album sends me into a frenzy. From the perspective of a dedicated fan since the self-titled days, is the Imaginary Enemy a worthy opponent?

OOTD - We Only Come Out At Night

BEANIE: Primark
T-SHIRT: Motionless In White (customised)
SHORTS: Primark
TIGHTS: Wilkinsons

I apologise if you follow me on Instagram and you've seen this shirt Matty bought me a million times over already. As well as sentimental value, I'm a massive fan of Motionless In White and this was the first shirt I decided to cut, so it's a bit more special to me and I'm finding myself washing it every day just to wear it the next.

Despite the weather warming up just enough for me to wear shorts and tights, I'm still wearing beanies and misjudging the 'hoodie and jacket' weather as I leave the house. I'm well known for going out in winter in a vest top, then five dozen layers in summer, as if my body clock never goes forward at the right time.

Since I've moved house and finally got my zombie claws into new unlimited broadband (I had limited data until now - 10GB a month?! Oh no no no), I've been branching my music taste out into more heavier realms. Asking Alexandria, Architects and Issues have become new obsessions and have been on constant loop for weeks now. Of course, everyone's definition of 'heavy' will differ greatly, but for a girl that came from a glam rock, pop punk, emo background, metal was a genre I could only dream of getting into. In the last few years, however, I've become a lot more perceptive to metal, and I'm indebted to the people in my life, particularly Matty, that have brought me kicking and screaming into the present day as opposed to clinging onto my flares for dear life.

OOTD - Here Today, Gone Tomorrow

Ramones Top: Primark
Leather Jacket: Primark
Shorts: Primark
Leggings: Lipsy
Converse XX Hi - Schuh

You know when you've planned an outfit all weekend and actually start wishing Monday would come to wear it? This was one of those days.

The weather's been warming up here in the UK, so I took it upon myself to storm out of the house, leaving my cares at home, and wear shorts for the first time since October. I forgot what it was like to be free from skinny jeans, however much I love them, I do value my ability to bend my legs every so often.

I'd been staring at this Ramones shirt for months on the rack, thinking to myself 'you shall be mine... one day soon', but I kept talking myself out of it because it's green, and I don't often wear colours unless I absolutely have to. I had to drag myself to the till clutching it, still doubting whether I'd ever wear it, but now look at us. We make the perfect couple, don't we?

I'm Back!

The title gave it away, didn't it? Ah well, now the secret's out - I'm back blogging! I've finished university until my two exams in May, so I've got more than enough time to get back to writing here as much as I used to.

The above picture is me taking a painfully awkward selfie with my dissertation. I had no idea I was giving my camera the death stare, but everyone around me was looking at me taking it, so I was too socially awkward to smile.

My topic, as you can probably guess if you know me by now, was the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre. I won't bore you with the details, but it's been 3 long years of work on this baby, and when it came to handing it in, all 42 pages printed and bound, I struggled letting it go.

So besides the conclusion to my university work until May, I'm also moving house in less than 2 weeks. Talk about stressful, eh? At least it's kept me on my toes when it came to finishing my uni work on time, but now it's time to pack up and move on.

Now university's out of the way, I'm getting down to some serious job hunting. I'm scouring for graduate jobs and pretty much anything that will take me as I've been unemployed for the entire time I've been at university. I really need some form of income to have any chance at starting my MA in September, so by whatever means necessary, I need to find £4,000 by then. I read articles on a daily basis about how the generation around me don't want to work and that's the sole reason they're unemployed, but in reality, there's people like me that would do any job someone throws at me, purely because I want to work. I'm happy to move wherever work comes, I'm happy to make sacrifices, but it's all in the name of wanting to work.

Anyway, that's what's going on with me lately, but what about you? How's life been treating you lately? Leave me a comment, I'd love to know how you've been!
